The Cindy Crawford Biography- The girl with the brains, the beauty…...and of course, that mole! The Cindy Crawford Biography began on February 20, 1966 when Cynthia Ann Crawford was born to parents John and Jennifer in DeKalb, Illinois. She had 4 siblings but her brother Jeffrey died of leukemia when Cindy was only 10. Her parents divorced when she was 16.
 Cindy graduated valedictorian of her high school class and received an academic scholarship to attend Northwestern University.  While in high school, she had a part time job shucking corn.
It was here where a local news reporter took her picture and she was officially discovered at the age of 16. She began modeling throughout high school but later went on to pursue a chemical engineering degree at Northwestern University. However, she did not complete college because she wanted to pursue a higher paying career in the modeling industry. She briefly lived and modeled in Chicago but did reach a high level of success until she moved to New York in 1986 where she became recognized as a Supermodel.
Ten years later in 1998, when she appeared on the cover again Playboy Magazine reached their all time biggest sales. 
Throughout her career, Cindy Crawford has appeared in several advertisements and commercials including Pepsi and has graced the covers of over 600 magazines worldwide.
Outside of modeling she has briefly pursued acting and has appeared on television shows such as Third Rock from the Sun and Life According to Jim. She also played the role of Kate McQueen in the movie Fair Game in 1995. Cindy also hosted MTV’s House of Style for 6 years. In 1995, Forbes magazine named her the highest paid model in the world.
 She has also been very successful with her workout videos Cindy Crawford’s Shape Your Body and her book Cindy Crawford’s Basic Face. She currently owns her own production company, Crawdaddy,Inc. Cindy Crawford is involved in charity work which includes breast and ovarian cancer research and the Leukemia Society of America.
In 1998 she married Rande Gerber and together they have 2 children: Presley (’99) and Kaya(’01).
