Cleaning Designer Fabric Handbags

Cleaning designer fabric handbags or designer canvas handbags is very easy. Just follow these simple steps.

  • Mild soap and a damp white cloth can be used on most canvas or fabric handbags. Remember to blot rather than rub as blotting will cause the stain to spread.
  • If the stain is stubborn, you can try using a toothbrush to gently scour the stain. However, be careful not to apply too much pressure while rubbing as this may cause damage to the fabric.
  • It's always a good idea to apply Scotch Guard to a new fabric handbag. This will keep it free from future stains and damage. Simply follow the instructions on the can and apply every six months or as needed.
  • Oxyclean
Read what one of our readers recommends with just a drop of Oxyclean:

OH my goodness..I just cleaned my fabric Coach purse. It looks brand new.. I took a drop..just a drop on a clean dry cloth with OXYCLEAN liquid...let it sit for a minute..I had a real dirty bag. Then I took a white cloth and wiped it down, put it under a fan and BINGO ! It looks like the day I got it 3 years ago. This bag has kind of a sateen finish with coaches on it.. I love it !!

Thank you KK, for your great recommendation!
