Spot Fake Coach PursesHow To Tell If Yours Is Real!
Sometimes you can easily determine if you have a fake Coach purse just by looking at the overall quality. If the quality is not perfect and if it doesn't have that expensive look, feel and smell, then chances are it is a fake. But if you are still unsure, take a look at these great tips below and never be fooled again!
Helpful Tips on Spotting Fake Coach Purses:1.) The first thing to look look at is the C logo. Make sure the C's line up correctly and are not mismatched. On fake Coach purses, the C pattern is usually unmatched at the seams causing a broken pattern or C's that are chopped up. If your bag is authentic, the C pattern will match up correctly so that the C's on one side of the seam look like a mirror image of the C's on the opposite of the seam as shown below. The C's begin at the middle seam of the bag, and proceed outward.
Also, make sure those C's are indeed C's. Some fake Coach purses contain a logo that looks very similar to the Coach signature C
pattern,
but instead
it is a G.
2.) Look at the dustbag. If you are buying the bag second hand on Ebay, you may not receive a dustbag. But if you are buying from someone who says they are an authorized dealer, your dustbag should be chocolate brown with a red drawstring. At the bottom right, written in white capital letters, it should read 'COACH EST. 1941'.
If you receive a dustbag that is white or beige in color and made from flimsy material with a few fold lines running through it,
this may be a red
flag that your purse, like your dust bag might also be a fake.
3.) Examine your ole' zipper. Authentic Coach purses only use the zipper brand YKK. It is the highest quality of zippers available. So, look carefully at your zipper pull. If your bag is
authentic, you will see the tiny letters 'YKK' on your zipper pull. Fake Coach purses do not have the YKK zippers. 4.) Stitching. This one seems obvious to me, but I thought I'd list it anyway. Coach makes only excellent quality handbags. Excellent and expensive materials are used and only excellent craftmanship is approved.
That being said, your stitching should be perfect too. You should see no loose or missing stitches and no hanging threads on your bag.
It is found on the interior of the bag on a leather tag. The serial number is located at the bottom of this tag and reads 'NO.' and then a number and letter code. The last four numbers represent the style number of the bag. It's always a good idea to contact Coach directly to make sure the numbers match up to the style you are buying. The writing above the serial numbers
should be in all capital letters and should be nice and neat and not crooked or sloppy. The writing should be in English.
6.) Look for plastic casings or wrappers on the handles. I have spent a lot of time living and shopping in China. I have been in the markets where they sell the fake Coach purses among many of the other designer name brands. One thing they all have in common is that the handles are always contained in plastic casings or tubular wrappings for protection. If you are eyeing a Coach bag on Ebay, but notice that the handles are wrapped in plastic, then proceed with caution. Coach only uses the highest quality materials and would probably be in shock to see one of their 'babies' cheapened by the likes of PLASTIC! Just remember to look at all the details and ask the right questions when buying a new Coach handbag. If it is an authentic Coach, it will have the look and feel of great quality and incredible craftsmanship. Beware of an authenic Coach purse sold for a really cheap price. Just remember what your momma told ya-- 'If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!'
Keep this tips handy for when you are ready to buy a
new Coach handbag.
