He went to Parsons School of Design in New York and won several wards for his work. Jacobs won several awards in the late 80's when he worked with Perry Ellis. He later went to work for Louis Vuitton and became the fashion director of the company and is credited for there success with some famous styles that were created. Marc Jacobs has since created his own line of handbags that have a very classic style of there own. They can be easily recognized all around the world as one of the top luxury line of handbags available.
The line can also be found in many major department stores from Neiman Marcus to Nordstroms. In 2007 he used Michael Stipe of Rock band REM in his latest ad campaign. This was a great marketing idea because it generated a lot of buzz about his company and his brand. The future looks bright for Marc Jacobs as the designer handbag market remains red hot for 2008.
